Our Advisors and Principal Volunteers
David Walega
Director
David is a fine art painter, photographer and an ardent supporter of animal welfare. As the proud dad of two adopted dogs, David is dedicated to raising the visibility of animal population control issues and encouraging shelter adoptions.
Since graduating from Pratt Institute (New York) with a Bachelors of Fine Art (1991),David hasbeen a scenic painter, designer and a successful photojournalist with many international organizations as clients.
Treena Colby
Contributing Advisor
Treena brings a unique combination of research, writing, business development, marketing, sponsorship, and event/project management skills. She has held positions at Giga Information Group, the Canadian Consulate in Seattle, and the Athena Institute. She currently is the Director of Business Development for Cypress, Ltd., an energy-consulting firm.
Treena earned her BA in Environmental Studies from Colorado College with extensive field research in Belize, focusing on sustainable development.
Treena and her husband share their lives with two rescued kitties.
Mary Schile
Contributing Advisor
Mary Schile has lived and worked in Seattle since 1988. She had volunteered since 1995 with the Talking Book and Braille Library reading Rolling Stone on the Evergreen Radio Reading Service, been active in the Jr. League of Seattle since 2004 and has raised funds for the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research through the Fraternal Order of Eagle’s Aerie #1 in Seattle since 2007. She likes pie.
Emily Rieman
Creative Partner and Auction Coordinator
Emily Rieman, of Best Friend Photography, grew up sitting next to her father in their tiny basement darkroom watching him make black and white prints. When she was fifteen he gave her a Canon SLR and she began taking pictures of everything around her. She went on to study photography at the School of Visual Arts in NYC and the University of Washington in Seattle, earning a BFA in Photography.

Michal Wiesbrock

Michal received his MBA in international business from the University of South Carolina, and holds a certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington. He's held titles such as development director, director of events, event manager, public relations associate and talent manager. His unique professional background involves fund-raising, brand management, promotions, media relations and special events.
Carolyn Dunford
Contributing Advisor
Carolyn Dunford is a painter and a freelance information professional. She holds an MLIS in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, an MUP in Urban Design and Planning from the University of Washington, and a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Originally from Boston, she has lived in Seattle for 20 years. She and her husband, Marc Bohne, also a painter, share their lives with three special tabbies. She is passionate about the arts and thrilled to be part of an organization dedicated to the welfare of animals.
